Tije Festival

The Tije Festival is a unique festival among the communities of Mustang. It is celebrated every year during the month of May-June, for a total of three days. The festival rests entirely on a myth that circles around the story of a deity named Dorje Jono who fights with his demon father to end drought and famine and eventually save the Kingdom of Mustang. Locals believe that the celebration of Tije Festival is a harbinger of the much-needed rains for crops.
