To have the closest view of Everest, trekkers’ first fly to Lukla (2880m.) airport then start their journey totally on their own foot. Trekkers spend two nights at Namche Bazaar for better acclimatization. Spending an additional day at Namche allows tourists to visit local monasteries, local markets, and also walk up to scenic Syangboche (3800m.) village. Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,640m) After an early breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the domestic airport for your 30-minute scenic flight to Lukla (2,886m). The flight offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, as well as the lush hills, farmlands, and rivers below. Upon arrival in Lukla, you'll begin your 3-hour trek to Phakding (2,640m), following a gentle ascent along the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of Mt. Nupla (5,885m) on the Kongde Ridge and enjoy stunning valley views with Mt. Kusum Kanguru (6,367m) in the distance.

Today’s trek takes about 5 hours as you journey from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. Surrounded by towering mountains, Namche is a bustling Sherpa town with spectacular views of the Bhote Koshi River to the south.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m) The trek from Namche to Tengboche takes around 5 hours. As you ascend through lush forests, the trail gradually levels off, revealing incredible mountain views. Upon reaching Tengboche, you'll pass through a stone gate built by local lamas, signaling your entry into the village, which is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery.

The 5-hour trek to Dingboche takes you through serene landscapes, passing fields of barley, buckwheat, and potatoes. These crops are protected by stone walls to guard against cold winds and grazing animals. Dingboche is a charming village, perfect for acclimatization.

Today’s trek of about 5.5 hours leads you northward, starting with a visit to a Mani-prayer Stupa before descending towards Pheriche village. Along the way, you'll enjoy views of Mt. Tawache, Ama Dablam, and other majestic peaks such as Pokalde (5,741m), Kongma-tse (5,820m), and the dramatic Nuptse wall. After passing through Dugla (4,595m), you’ll cross a wooden bridge over the Khumbu glacier river.

This is a long but rewarding day, taking around 7 hours. You’ll follow the rocky moraine path alongside the Khumbu Glacier, passing icy glacial ponds and icebergs. After reaching Gorakshep, the former Everest Base Camp, you’ll continue your journey toward the current Everest Base Camp. Along the way, you'll enjoy views of Nuptse, Lho-La, and Khumbu Tse. After visiting Base Camp, return to Gorakshep for the night.

Begin your day with an early morning ascent to Kala Patthar (5,545m) to witness the magnificent sunrise over Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks. From this vantage point, you can take in a panoramic view of Everest, Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbu Tse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. After soaking in the breathtaking scenery, descend to Pheriche, which will take about 6 hours in total.

Today’s 8-hour trek takes you back to Namche Bazaar, with a downhill journey through the forested slopes of Tengboche. Enjoy scenic views as you pass through the traditional villages of Khumjung and Khunde. Explore the Sherpa culture and traditions before continuing to Namche.

Your final day of trekking takes around 6 hours as you follow the Dudh Koshi River down to Lukla. It’s a mostly downhill trek, offering one last chance to enjoy the beautiful Himalayan scenery.

Lukla to Kathmandu In the morning, you will take a 30-minute flight back to Kathmandu, with one last opportunity to admire the stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel.
