Manakamana Temple is one of the most popular Hindu pilgrimage sites in Nepal. Located about 125Km west of Kathmandu, the temple lies in the Gorkha district between Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Dedicated to Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, 'Manokamana' literally means 'fulfilling one's wishes'. It is believed that Goddess Bhagwati grants the wishes of the devotees visiting the temple. The Temple is located at the altitude of 1,300 metres (4,300 ft) and offers crystal clear view of Himalayan ranges including Annapurna II, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, and Baudha.

Manakamana Temple can be visited in one day and is easily accessible. A cable car connects Mankamana Temple with Kurintar located along Prithivi Highway.

Day1Drive from Kathmandu to Kurintar takes about 4 hrs then take cable car from Kurintar to Manakamana Temple.

Drive from Kathmandu to Kurintar takes about 4 hrs then take cable car from Kurintar to Manakamana Temple. Return to Kathmandu the same day.

After breakfast, take an early morning drive from Kathmandu to Kurintar along Prithivi Highway. Take in the beautiful scenery of green hills, rivers, villages and distant snow mountains. After reaching Kurintar, take a 10 minutes cable car ride that will take you up to Mankamana Temple.

Enjoy the scenery of sprawling valley below and sparkling mountain peaks in the likes of Annapurna II, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Baudha Himal etc. Have lunch at one of the many restaurants near the temple. Afterwards take the cable ride again back to Kurintar and from there drive back to Kathmandu.
