Pathibhara temple is one of the most popular holy sites in Nepal revered by both Buddhists and Hindus. It is located in Phungling, the district headquarters of Taplejung in eastern mid hill Nepal.

Visiting the shrine is considered auspicious by pilgrims as there is a belief that Goddess Pathibhara fulfills any and all dreams of her devotees. The shrine is situated at 3,794m amid pristine natural environment, commanding a stunning view of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Cho Oyou, Makalu, Kumbakarna etc. The surround forested hills is home to a variety of wild animals, birds, butterflies and colorful flowers. The temple actually lies on the trekking route to Kanchenjunga Base Camp.

Today the shrine it has become is a popular pilgrimage destination for both religious pilgrims and tourists. During full moon the temple comes alive with celebration as devotees sing hymn and light lamps. There are basic facilities like lodges easily available along the route. Pathibhara Temple Visit can be arranged round the year.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day1Drive from Kathmandu to Suketar takes about one hour.

After breakfast, take a long drive from Kathmandu to Suketar. Then trek from Suketar to Deurali which takes approximately two hours. While trekking, you can observe village life and nature along the trail. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day2Trek from Deurali to Phedi takes almost five hours.

Early morning after breakfast, you will leave Durali for Phedi. The trail passes through forest that come alive with animals and birds. The views of mountains and valleys will mesmerize you. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day3Trek from Phedi to Pathibhara takes about three hours.

You will take a morning hike Temple of Pathibhara Devi. You will follow the hilly forest trails that winds up to the temple. From Pathibhara you can enjoy beautiful views of Kanchenjunga and Kumbakarna. Afterwards trek back to Phedi which takes almost two and a half hours. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day4Trek from Phedi to Suketar takes about five hours.

On this day you return to Suketar. Vsit local monastery and observe villages along the way. If you like you can taste local drinks and food. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day5Fly from Suketar to Kathmandu that takes one hour.

Today take a short morning flight from Suketar to Kathmandu.
