Expedition in Tibet

Tibet is the highest region on earth with an average elevation of 5000 meters. It is an autonomous region of China that lies on the northern side of the Himalayas. Tibet shares Mt. Everest with Nepal though the top of Everest is officially concluded on Nepal side. Because of the presence of several towering peaks, Tibet has gained its fame as “Roof of the World”. Lhasa is the capital of Tibet and consists of several world class monuments like Potala Palace, winter residence of Dalai Lama, Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s spiritual center, revered for golden young statue of Buddha.  Several other monasteries are worth to visit there. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar are regarded as the holiest places for Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist people also lies in Tibet.

Tibet is not only popular for cultural and historical tour. It is equally promising for mountaineering. Mt. Everest (8848m) can also be climbed also from Tibet side. Mt. Cho Oyu (8201m) and Mt. Shishapangma (8012m) are eight-thousanders to climb from Tibet side. Lhakpa Ri (7045) also receives lots of attention from mountaineers every year.
