
The 8 Days Drive in Fly out Tibet Tour is an ideal program for those wishing to experience major cultural attractions in Tibet including Lhasa. You will enter Tibet by crossing Nepal-China(Tibet) border and head towards Lhasa which involves driving over an impressive landscape of Tibetan plateau featuring high passes, lakes, towering mountains, pristine wildlife and Tibetan culture.
Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet and has been a center of Tibetan Buddhism for centuries. In Lhasa you will visit the 7th century Potala Palace- a world heritage site along with Norbulingka (the Dalai Lama’s summer palace) and Jokhang Temple. You will also explore three largest and oldest monasteries in Tibet: Samye, Drepung and Sera. The tour actually offers plenty of time to learn about Tibetan Buddhism and observe unique lifestyle and culture of Tibet .
The other highlights of this tour is the visits to Gyantse and Shigatse, two largest cities in Tibet. Established in 14th century Gyantse Fort today hosts Pelkor Choede Monastery and Kumbum Stupa while Shigatse is home to Panchen Lama and the impressive Tashi Lunpo Monastery.
This Drive in/Fly out tour eventually ends in Lhasa from where you will fly out to Kathmandu.
On your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be greeted with flower garlands/Khadas by our representative and taken to your hotel. Later you will visit office for paperwork.

After a delicious breakfast at hotel, your tour guide will pick you up from the hotel for a day sightseeing around Kathmandu. Today you will visit several UNESCO World Heritage monuments, including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudha Stupa, Swayambhu Stupa (Monkey Temple), Budanilkantha and Pashupatinath Temple. After completing the tour, you will return to your hotel by late afternoon.

Following breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for a sightseeing tour of Patan Durbar Square. Patan Durbar Square is a world heritage site rich in Newari art and architecture. Here you will visit the main Durbar Square courtyard, Krishna Mandir, the statue of Bhupatindra Malla, Talejun Bhawani, Vishwanath Temple among others. If time permits, you may also take a side trip to Bungamati village, to experience authentic Newari culture.
Following lunch in Patan, you will travel to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bhaktapur is also equally famous for excellent Newari architecture and traditional Newari culture. 55-Window Palace, Nyatapola Temple, Pottery Square are some of the sites you will visit in the square. Following the completion of the tour in Bhaktapur you will drive back to Kathmandu.

Free day in Kathmandu for trip preparation and Tibet visa formalities. You can spend the day relaxing in your hotel or strolling nearby markets. You will attend a small trip preparation presentation in the office. Meanwhile the last minute formalities to obtain Tibet visa will be completed.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from hotel in Kathmandu and drive you towards Kerung (Nepal side). On this 170km long journey you will pass though small mountain roads with beautiful views of waterfall, rivers & forest. After arriving in Kerung (Nepal side), you will meet our Tibetan guide and driver at Nepal-China(Tibet) border and complete necessary immigration paper work. Shortly afterwards you will cross Nepal-China border and drive to Kerung (Tibetan side).

After breakfast, a day drive uphill to the highest plateau in the world, offering a typical view of the Tibetan landscape that gives you the sheer feeling of standing on the roof of the world.
If weather permitting; you'll witness a breathtaking panorama of the beautiful Himalayan ranges, including Mt. Cho Oyu (8201 M) & Mt. Shishapagma (8012M), although they are dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau.

After breakfast, we will visit Sakya monastery. Sakya Monastery is famed as the 'Second Dunhuang' due to its colossal collection of numerous Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, murals and Thangkas. Then continue drive towards Shigatse, the second biggest city in Tibet. Here, you will visit the popular Tashilunpo Monastery in Shigatse, which holds both historical and cultural importance for being founded by Gendun Drup, the First Dalai Lama, in 1447.

After breakfast, we drive to Gyantse and visit Khumbum Monastery & Palcho Monastery.
The full name of the Palcho Monastery is "The Auspicious Wheel Joy Monastery." According to historical records, this monastery was built in the 14th or 15th century. It consists of the Assembly Hall, the 100,000-Buddha pagoda, dratsangs, and an enclosure wall as its construction units.
Kumbum Monastery with its extraordinary architecture. The Stupa was designed by Newari architects from Nepal and is one of the unique stupas in Tibet.

Continue to drive towards Lake Yamdrok, crossing the Karo La Glacier(5,010m/16,432 ft) and Kamba La (4794m/15,725 ft) passes. Lake Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake), one of the three largest sacred lakes of Tibet, is also believed to be the transformation of a Tibetan goddess.

After breakfast processed full day sightseeing of Potala Palace , Potala palace is one of the most beautiful monuments in Tibet with 1,000 room and 13 stores to explore this is probably the most popular tourist attraction in Tibet.
Jokhang Temple was constructed back on 07th Century attracts hundred of tourist every years. This temple has a very huge Sakyamuni, Buddha statue and is considered the holiest place in Tibet. Barkhor Market Palace, Barkhor Bazar Street with its open-air stalls, shops, and crowd of pilgrims.

After breakfast, full day sightseeing of Drepung Monastery, was one of the world’s largest monasteries, it was founded in 1416.
Afternoon visit Sera Monastery specialized in the fundamental precepts of Buddhism.

After breakfast, transfer to Lhasa airport. The flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu takes one hour. During your flight, you can see Yarlung Tsangpo River, Yamdrok Tso (Lake), Mount Kanchanjungha (8,586m), Mount Makalu (8,463m), and Mount Everest (8,848m). However, visibility depends on the weather conditions.
As per your flight schedule, our airport representative will transfer from your hotel to the airport for your final departure.
