Lhosar

Lhosar is the biggest festival of Buddhists, celebrated in Nepal with much anticipation and euphoria. The festival occurs during February and March. The Buddhist community of Nepal, which comprise of Gurungs, Tamangs and Sherpas comes together to pay their respects to Lord Buddha. During this festival people sing and dance, eat delicious cuisines, adorn themselves in traditional dress and visit and pray at major Buddhist sites. Swoyambhunath and Boudhanath in Kathmandu are abuzz with locals, Buddhist monks and pilgrims.
