Tamang Heritage trek offers panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges. Glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes namely Gosiakunda, Pravatikuda, Bhairavkunda and Dudhkunda are found along the Tamang Heritage trek
After early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to bus station. Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about seven hours. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. Stay overnight at lodge.
While trekking, you can experience Tamang culture and participate in cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang. Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Stay overnight at local home/lodge.
On the way you enjoy the views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. At Tatopani or 'hot water', you can take a hot bath in natural hot springs. It is believed that taking a dip into this spring will heal you both spiritually and physically. This day's trekking provides you an opportunity to experience more of Tamang culture. Stay overnight at local home/lodge.
En route you may encounter animals like monkeys and deer. The panoramic views of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen ranges can be easily experienced from Nagthali. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local Buddhist monks and Lama Priests. Another cultural village, Thuman, is popular for its Shamanic performances and beautiful views of Langtang peaks. Stay overnight at local home/lodge.
You can experience home stay in Briddim and enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. Briddim is a Tamang Buddhist village in the bosom of Langtang Himal with a total of around 43 houses. The roof of houses, here are distinctly covered with slates. As direct descendants of Tibetans, the culture and tradition of Tamangs of Briddim are heartwarming and so close to Tibet. You walk through Briddim village while observing the local lifestyle and culture and interacting with the locals. Reaching Lama Hotel, you discover that it is located on the banks of the Langtang River and surrounded by lush forests and mountains. Stay overnight at lodge.
As you continue climbing there are occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghora Tabela [3000m], the trail emerges from the forest. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project here, but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Here, there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory. You arrive at Kyangjin by lunch time allowing time to acclimatize and explore the area. Stay overnight at lodge.
This is a day to rest and explore the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m.), directly behind the village, for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang peaks. From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch, you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. Stay overnight at lodge.
You retrace your steps to Thulo Syabru, and then take a path passing through forests. Stay overnight at lodge.
From Thulo Syabru it is a steep climb through forests of oak, fir and rhododendron to the top of a ridge. From here it is only a short descent to Sing Gompa. Stay overnight at lodge.
You trek downhill all the way to Ghatte Khola (stream) passing through forests, a small village Dimsa and terraces. Now you trek over a leveled path along Ghatte Khola (stream) till Dhunche. Stay overnight at lodge.
You drive through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Kathmandu.
