Known as the ‘holy hidden valley of happiness', Tsum Valley lies on the Kyimu Lung pilgrimage circuit. It is here that Buddhist saint Milarepa meditated making it a historically and spiritually sacred land.

Tsum Valley trek is a long and adventurous journey through one of the most remote and wilderness Himalayan landscape. The cultural and natural biodiversity of Tsum Valley and the entire Manaslu region region is now well preserved under Manaslu conservation area project. On the Tsum Valley trek, trekkers will experience pristine biodiversity and wildlife species such as Snow leopard, Musk deer, Blue sheep, Snow partridge, Himalayan Thar, Tibetan snowcock and Chukor partridge.

One of the major attraction of Tsum Valley trek includes visit to three ancient Buddhist monasteries - Shringi Gompa in Bihi and Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa in Chhekampar. Trekkers will be able to catch beautiful views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Baudha Himal, Sringi Himal and Rupinala from sevearl points along the trek. You will pass through villages inhabited by Trans-himalayan Bhotia community who follow ancient Buddhist tradition and unique practices.

As part of promoting Sustainable Tourism, only limited number of visitors are allowed permission to visit  Tsum Vallley every year upon paying a special permit fee. This means the trail is more pristine and authentic and less crowded. The best time to do Tsum Valley trek is Spring (Mar-May) and Autumn (Sep-Nov).
