TAAN organizes tax, VAT training
18th Feb, 2013

As a part of disseminating information about income tax and VAT and increasing tax compliance level of its member agencies, Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) on February 17 organized a daylong training on tax and Value Added Tax (VAT) in Kathmandu.
Representatives of a total of 31 member agencies attended the first training. The association plans to organize the training for its member agencies in the future as well.
Dr. Chandra Mani Adhikari and Hari Rayamajhi were the resource persons for the training.
Krishna Hari Khatri, coordinator of TAAN’s HR and Training Department, said the training was organized as many member agencies are unaware about government rules and regulations regarding tax and VAT. “In the lack of adequate information about tax and VAT, many agencies had to pay hefty fine in the past. The training will stop that,” Khatri said, adding that the training will also increase tax compliance among member agencies.
TAAN plans to organize similar training in the future as well.
