Official inauguration of Visit Nepal 2020

Visit Nepal 2020 is a National Campaign announced by Nepal Government and lead by Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA). The year 2020 is a significant year for Nepal as it had announced and planned to celebrate Visit Nepal Year 2020 a year ago. The main aim of this campaign is to bring 2 million tourists. The motive is not only to bring the tourists by numbers but to bring the potential outbound travelers from all around the world.

Nepal is a country with panoramic geography and diverse culture yet we have not grabbed many opportunities because of various reasons like long civil war, unstable government, lack of coordination between government and private sectors, poor infrastructure, inadequate rules and regulations and so on. But now is the right time to grab the opportunity as Government is stable and is focused towards developing the country and its infrastructure. The government of Nepal is giving priority to the tourism industry/sector and is encouraging the associated activities which will benefit country by generating foreign currency and employment opportunities, and hence contributing to the overall development of the nation's economy.

Visit Nepal Year 2020 is being promoted and marketed globally by participating in International Travel Expo, Travel & Tourism Fair and by conducting Visit Nepal Year 2020 Campaign, special campaigns with the slogan of “Lifetime Experiences”. Nepal tourism board is also promoting Visit Nepal Year 2020 with various works done by Digital Marketing and advertisement unit of Public Relations and Publicity of various different countries.

After lots of preparation for almost a year Visit Nepal Year 2020 was launched with much fanfare on 1st January 2020. Honorable President Bidya Devi Bhandari officially launched the campaign by lighting the Unity of Flame. Tourism ministers from China, Myanmar, India and Jamaica were present during the inauguration and extended their warm wishes to Nepal for the glorious success of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 campaign. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Avaition Yogesh Bhattari gave his welcome speech and stated that Government is fully assembled and ready to make this decade as a Tourism decade. Various ministers of Nepal, thousands of travel and tourism entrepreneurs and spectators were present to show their support for the campaign.

Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is hopeful that Nepal will be able to bring in more than 2 million tourists as aimed for the prosperity and the riches of Nepal.

Managing Director of Nepal Environmental Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. who is also the immediate past president of TAAN Mr. Nava Raj Dahal is also involved actively in VNY 2020 campaign and is contributing his utmost from his part to make this campaign a successful one.
