Nepal enters a new era of Peace and Change

The appointment of a former Chief Justice Mrs. Sushila Karki as new Prime Minister of the interim government on 13 September 2025 quickly brought a peaceful closure to the youth demonstrations in Nepal resuming normal life and economic activities.

The interim government led by PM has assured to address all the demands raised by the youth including end to corruption, and make changes in the government. Since then the President has also announced fresh elections of the Parliament to be held on March 5, 2026.

The change in the government saw Nepal welcome the first woman Prime Minister of Nepal in Mrs. Karki. She is also the first woman to serve as the Chief Justice of Nepal in 2016-17. Nepal has truly entered new era of positive changes and historic achievements fueled by the short but impactful revolution of youth.

With the formation of a new government, public life has swiftly returned to the country: Shops and businesses are open for business, international and domestic airports resume regular operation and highways see free and unobstructed travel.

Returning of a peaceful environment is a good omen for the tourism sector, especially at the ongoing peak autumn season. Nepal is completely safe for tourists to visit and travel around.
