Lhosar Dinner Ball on February 23

As a part of celebrating Lhosar – the New Year festival of different indigenous communities in the country, Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) is organizing ‘Lhosar Dinner Ball-2013’ at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Durbarmarg on February 23.
The fun-filled event will showcase culture and tradition of communities like Gurung, Sherpa and Tamang, among others. Though these communities celebrate Lhosar on different dates, TAAN has been observing the festival in a combined way by bringing together all these communities for a single program.
Lhosar Dinner Ball is an annual event in TAAN’s calendar. In the initial years, TAAN used to organize Lhosar festival as a fund-raising campaign. The association plans to include the event in the country’s annual tourism calendar in the near future so as to attract more foreign tourists in the country.
