Indigenous People's Trail presents a unique opportunity for an intimate exploration of one of the most culturally diverse areas of Nepal. The trail is home to several indigenous communities, namely SherpaNewarThamiTamangYolmo and Majhi. The pristine forests of Sailung, Rajveer, Augleshwori, Galba and Khandadevi offer a ecological heaven for such wildlife as pheasant, deer and Langur monkeys. 

The majestic Himalayan ranges including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Everest, Kanchenjunga are some of the peaks that can be seen during the course of the indigenous peoples' trail.

After early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you-up from your hotel. Drive from Kathmandu to Mudhe / Dhunge (2500m) takes 4 hours. Stay overnight at lodge.

Trek from Dhunge to Kholakharka (3146m) takes 4 hours. On the trail you experience splendid views of Mount Gauri Shankar (7,134m). Stay overnight at lodge/local house.

Trek from Kholakharka to Surkey takes four and half hours. The trail descends through the Sailung forests of a wide variety of native trees, shrubs and different species of birds. Stay overnight at lodge/local house.

Trek from Surkey to Doramba via Tinghare takes four hours. Enjoy the colorful Thami cultural program at Tinghare. You pass through the rhododendron forest as you descend to reach Doramba. Stay overnight at lodge/local house.

Trek from Doramba to Khandadevi via Galba takes four and half hours. During your trail the splendid views of the Himalaya and Mahabharat hills. After your stop at Galba for lunch you walk past the terraced landscape and pine forest to reach Khandadevi. You visit the temple and enjoy a lovely sunset in Khandadevi. Stay overnight at lodge/local house.

Trek from Khandadevi to Hiledevi takes four hours. After spending some lovely moments enjoying the sunrise view you trek towards Hiledevi along thick pine forest that is home to a wide variety of birds and other wildlife species. In the evening you can enjoy a Yolmo cultural program. Stay overnight at lodge/local house.

Trek from Hiledevi to Lubughat takes four hours. Lubhughat village is located on riverbank. You can do fishing trip in Sunkoshi River. At evening, you will attend Majhi Cultural performance with fresh fish BBQ at last day in Lubughat. Stay overnight at lodge/local house.

After taking breakfast, you will cross the river and walk to Nepalthok. You will then drive to Kathmandu via Dhulikhel.

Additional Information

Below is a list of equipment and clothing required for trekking. The necessity of these items depends on the type, altitude, timing and destination of trekking. Appropriate trekking gears are not only required for the comfort/pleasure of your trek but also to improve safety factor.  Please have a look over these items in order to fully prepare and thoroughly enjoy the trekking. 

General Items:
Daypack, Rucksack, Sleeping bag, Duffel bag, Walking Poles, walking boots, sandals, Toiletries (Soaps, Toilet papers, Sanitizers, toothpaste, tooth brush, etc.)

Clothing Items:
Thermal underwear, Down jacket, Shorts, Trekking trousers, Towels, Woolen gloves, Gaiters, Fleece jacket or Pullover, Wind/water proof jacket, Raincoat, Warm socks, buff   

Sun-worn Items:
Sun hat, Sunglasses, Snow goggles, Sunscreen, Lip balm

Gadgets:
Headlamp, Flash light, Binoculars, Cameras (chargers and batteries),  

Liquid/Snacks:
Water bottle/bladder, Water purification Iodine tablets, Energy bars and snacks
