Ama Dablam Base Camp Trekking trail shares the same trail with Everest base camp Trek and Kala Patthar until Pangboche (3930m). The trail separates either from Tyangboche monastery or Phortse village but after reaching Pangboche, it is just a day hiking trip to Ama Dablam base camp.

On the course of trekking to Ama Dablam Base Camp you will witness some of the beautifully settled Sherpa villages within easy walking distance from the Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital, and you will find yourself standing at the foothill of Ama Dablam, most splendid mountain.

The term “Ama Dablam” means ‘mother’s necklace’. The hanging glacier resembles a ‘Dablam’ which is a piece of traditional necklace worn by Sherpa women around their neck. This trekking route passes through the lovely forest to the world renowned and sacred monastery of Tyangboche. The trekking is not popular as Everest Base Camp Trek
