Sailung trek is cultural village trekking in less crowed area for tourist. It is mainly a camping type trek which offers you a quick glimpse of rural Nepal and itsamazing Himalaya landscapes. However, it is also possible to arrange accommodation in basic lodges / local homes (home stay) during the trek. The magnificent views of mountains, such as Everest, Gauri Shankar, DorjeLakpa, Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu is mesmerizing.  In addition, you would be able to peek into the social and cultural life style of local people such as Tamang, Danuwar, Majhi, Braman, Chetri, etc. The route is covered with beautiful rhododendron and other natural vegetation and beautiful Buddhist manes &monasteries.

Sailung is a beautiful hillock situated at 3200 m and offers 360 degree panoramic view of surrounding Himalan peaks. Sailung trek is more than just a visit; it is in fact a perfect amalgamation of unique landscapes, wilderness, rural culture, differently coloured rhododendron forest, indigenous people and many more. Best Season to visit Sailung

Sailung is a beautiful destination to visit in every season however spring adds the extra flavour due to the blooming of different colour rhododendrons. From late December to early March, snow covering the hillocks and surrounding meadows would be something that everyone does not want to miss. During monsoon time, a greenery meadow makes this place like heaven.

Sailung is less touristic destination because of which there are not star category hotels. You have to stay at basic lodges or at local houses (home stay). Though you won't be able to get the amenities like in a city, you will definitely get the warmth hospitality from the people living there.

Driving from Kathmandu to Mude Bazaar is a scenic but thrilling trip that passes through cities, rivers, villages and hills. Mude is the village from where you begin your trekking the next morning. Stay overnight at lodge/home stay.

You will commence your trekking immediately after your breakfast. You will reach Deurali (2298 m) in the next three hours of walking where you stop for lunch. Deurali is a cool place to get refreshed from early tiring hiking. Your hiking will continue until you reach KholaKharka. En route, you will get a chance to interact with indigenous communities. Stay overnight at lodge/homestay.

Today, you will first hike to Sailung, a hill located at 3061 meters altitude. It is a mesmerizing hike through a beautiful rhododendron forest and small streams. Sailung is the perfect place to witness the beauty of sunrise over the lovely white Himalayan peaks. Golden rays from the sun in the early morning on frozen dew lying on meadow would definitely attract you. A 360 degree view from Sailung is something that everyone aims to capture. Later, you will trek to Doramba which takes about 3 hours. Stay overnight at lodge/home stay.  

After finishing your breakfast at the beautiful Doramba village, you will start your pleasant walking. Today, you will walk mostly downhill. Today, you can observe different modes of livelihood of local communities. Stay overnight at lodge/home stay.

Today, you will hike mostly uphill until you reach GuraseBhanjyang. During the spring season, the blooming of rhododendrons adds the charm of this trek. Stay overnight at lodge/ home stay.

Sailung trek is not just a walk but also a cultural trip. In Bhulung village you will get a chance to explore some other tribes and their lifestyle along with its natural beauties. Stay overnight at the lodge.

This is your final day of trekking which takes about 6 hours to complete. Palanchok is a famous and old temple where both Hindu and Buddhist people go to worship. Stay overnight at lodge/home stay.

You will visit the temple and nearby households to interact with local communities and understand their way of life. Later, you will drive back to Kathmandu.
