Tamang Heritage Trek(14 Days)

Tamang Heritage TrekThe Tamang Heritage trek is one of the newly opened treks which combines an enchanting journey wherein you can enjoy the magnificent mountain views with the insight into the unique Tamang culture, alpine terrain, green meadows and rhododendron forest.
Trekking through Tamang village gives you a wonderful opportunity to closely observe the community’s lifestyle, culture and crafts such as bamboo baskets and mats.

Tamang Heritage trek presents the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges. Glaciers of varying sizes and high altitude lakes namely Gosiakunda, Pravatikuda, Bhairavkunda and Dudhkunda are found along the Tamang Heritage trek

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1467 m.) via Trishuli (Nuwakot) takes about eight hours. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabru Besi passing through Dhunche. Stay overnight at home.
Day 2
Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.) via Goljung takes about six hours. This day you walk through villages. The cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes your trekking a memorable one. Gatlang is set high on a hillside among terraced fields and is a Tamang settlement. One can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang. Stay overnight at home.
Day 3
Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m.) takes about three hours. On the way you enjoy sightseeing of the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. At Tatopani, you can take hot bath in a natural hot spring. It is believed that taking a dip into this spring will heal you from your aches and pains. Stay overnight at home
Day 4
Trek from Tatopani to Thuman (2338m.) via Nagthali (3165m.) and Bimthang takes about five hours. The panoramic views of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal and Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali. Stay overnight at home
Day 5
Trek from Thuman to Briddim (2229m.) via Lingling takes about seven hours. You can experience village life of Briddim. Moreover you can enjoy a cultural show performed by community members. Briddim is a Tibetan Buddhist village located in the bosom of the Langtang Himal. Around 43 houses are spread in Z shape. Most of the houses are made up of stone and have roofs of splitshake. Stay overnight at home.
Day 6
Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel (2470m.)takes about six hours. You walk through Briddim village while observing the local lifestyle and culture and interacting with the locals. Reaching Lama Hotel, you discover that it is located on the banks of the Langtang River and surrounded by lush forests and mountains. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 7
Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3430m.) takes about five hours. En route you are quite mesmerized by the beautiful views of the Langtang range. You can also experience and make observations of Tibetan settlements. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 8
Trek from Langtang to Kyangjin (3870m.) takes about three hours. This day you can see the glaciated valley of Kyangjin on the lap of Langtang Lirung and surrounded by snowy mountains. Stay overnight at lodge
Day 9
Rest day at Kyangjin Gompa and excursion in and around the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri [4350m], directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks. Stay overnight at lodge
Day 10
Trek from Kyangjin to Lama Hotel (2470m.) takes about six hours. From Kyangjin you retrace your route, following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village and on to Ghora Tabela. After lunch you continue the steep descent to Lama Hotel. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 11
Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2130m.) takes about six and half hours. You continue retracing your steps some of the way to Thulo Syabru, but then branch left up a steep path through the forest. An undulating path brings you to this fascinating village where each house is set above its neighbor, in a long line up the very crest of the ridge. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 12
Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3330m) takes about five hours. From Thulo Syabru it is a steep climb through forests of oak, fir and rhododendron to the top of a ridge. From here it is only a short descent to Sing Gompa. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 13
Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche (2030 m.) takes about four hours. You trek downhill all the way to Ghatte Khola (stream) passing forest, a small village Dimsa and terraces. You then trek over a level path along the Ghatte Khola (stream) till Dhunche. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 14
Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu takes about eight hours. You drive through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Kathmandu.
