Sikkim is the 22nd state of India that
came into existence with effect from 26th
April, 1975. Sikkim state being a part
of inner mountain ranges of Himalayas,
is hilly having varied elevation ranging
from 300 to 8540 meters. But the habitable
areas are only up to the altitude of 2100
mtrs. Constituting only 20% of the total
area of the state. Sikkim has been divided
into four districts and each district has
further been bifurcated into two sub-divisions
for administrative purpose.
The highest portion of Sikkim lies in its
north west direction. A large number of mountains
having altitudes of about seven thousand
meters stands here with - Kanchenjunga (8598
m.), The third highest peak in the world.
The high serrated, snow capped spurs and
peaks of Kanchenjunga look attractive consisting
of Kumbha Karna (7711 m.), Pendem (6706 m.),
Narsingh (5825 m.), Kabru Dome (6545 m.),
etc. A number of glaciers descends from eastern
slopes of Kanchenjunga into Sikkim where
snow clad line is found above 5300 mtrs.
The biggest of them is Zemu, from whose snout
above Lachen monastery rises the river Teesta.

1 |
Fly from Kathmandu to Kakarvitta (Bhadrapur), a small town on the Indo-Nepal border which is about 110 kms from Darjeeling. Our local representative will receive you at Bhadrapur airport, and you will proceed to Darjeeling (4/5 hours drive). Stay overnight at the hotel in Darjeeling.

2 |
Early morning excursion to Tiger Hill to view the sunrise over Mt.Kunchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world. On the way back, visit the Ghoom Monastery located at the highest natural railway station in the world. Back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, sightseeing tour of Darjeeling that includes –
a) Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park which has the Siberian tiger, Himalayan black bear, red panda, snow leopard and many other animal and bird species, and the nearby snow leopard breeding center.
b) Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, a training center for mountaineers which also houses the Everest museum' Natural History Museum, with its fine display of Himalaya wildlife.
c) Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center, a major center for the production of Tibetan carpets, woodwork and leather goods;
d) Tea Garden and Tea Factory, to witness the manufacturing process of world famous Darjeeling tea.
e) Peace Pegoda, a beautiful Japanese monastery built on hilltop with spectacular view of Darjeeling and Mt. Kanchanjunga glazing just in front of you.

3 |
Drive from Darjeeling to Pelling (West Sikkim), (72 kms, 4/5 hrs drive) via Jorethang. Pelling offers the awe-inspiring views of Eastern Himalayas. Sightseeing tour of Pelling includes Pemayangtse Monastery, Kechipalri Lake, Kunchenjunga Water Falls and the ruins of Rabdentse the second palace of erstwhile Sikkim. Reach Nambu Village and meet our trekking crew who will brief you about the Mt. Kanchanjunga trekking. Stay overnight in the camp. |

Trek from Nambu to Chongri which is 8 kms/5 hrs/alt. 2,744m. Stay overnight in the camp. |

Trek from Chongri to Naya Patal which is 7kms/4 hrs/alt. 3,200mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |

Trek from Naya Patal to Yambong which is 10kms/7 hrs/ alt. 3,659mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |

Trek from Yambong to Gomathang which is 6 kms/4 hrs/alt. 3,354 mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |

Trek from Gomathang to Pangding which is 5 kms/4 hrs/alt. 4, 210mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |

Trek from Pangding to Do Bang which is 5 kms/ 4 hrs/alt. 3,000 mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |
| Day 10 |
Trek from Do Bang to Dzongri which is 10kms/7 hrs/alt. 4030 mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |
| Day 11 |
Trek from Dzongri to Thangshing which is in the alt. Stay overnight in the camp. |
| Day 12 |
Trek from Thangshing to Lamuney which is in the alt. of 4,207mtrs. Stay overnight in the camp. |
| Day 13 |
Trek form Lamuney to Gochala pass and return back to Thangshing. Stay overnight in the camp. |
| Day 14 |
Trek from Thangshing to Tshoka Village Stay overnight in the camp. |
| Day 15 |
Trek from Tshoka to Yuksom. Stay overnight in the hotel. |
| Day 16 |
Drive from Yuksom Village to Gangtok. On the way to Gangtok visit Tashiding Monastry. Stay overnight in the hotel. |
| Day 17 |
Gangtok Sightseeing which includes Rumtek Monastry, Flower Show, Cottage Industry, Tibetology. Stay overnight in the hotel. |
| Day 18 |
Drive from Gangtok to Kakarvitta (Bhadrapur airport) for onward flight to Kathmandu (same day flight) with wonderful memories of your trek in Sikkim Himalayas. |
