Annapurna Cultural Trek is a short colorful foray into the Annapurna region. The Annapurna Culture Trek winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and past waterfalls where you can stop to cool yourself. Around every corner is a tantalizing glimpse of the high mountains, whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek.

During this trek, you pass through different Gurung, Magar and Brahman villages where you get an insight into their cultural and social practices. In a short period, you can experience the colorful culture of these people and most of all you meet Buddhist and Hindus living in harmony and peace. The main occupations of locals here are agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism.

After early morning breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the tourist bus station. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) takes about seven hours. The drive will take most of our morning time, leaving much of the afternoon to get a warm glimpse of Pokhara Valley and its beauty. If you choose to fly, you can reach Pokhara in 25 minutes. There are several flights from morning to afternoon available from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

Pokhara is the tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples along with the magnificent views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and many other mountain peaks. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

From here you begin your trek to Pothana (1900m.). The trail ascends all the way to Pothana through forests till you reach the village called Dhampus. It is a Gurung village which gives you an opportunity to look at the magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu. The ascent trail follows to Pothana through the forests. Stay overnight at lodge.

While trekking from Pothana to Jhinudanda the trail ascends gently to Deurali and begins to descend up to Bherikharka through forests. You then follow a flat path till you reach Landruk village. The path you follow till Landruk is really exhilarating as you pass through many local villages rich in culture, terrace fields and numerous green hills. From here the trail descends to Modi Khola (stream) and ascends gently all the way to Jhinudanda. Stay overnight at lodge.

The trail gradually descends for sometime before ascending to Ghadruk Kot. Now, you walk for almost twenty minutes through flat path up Ghandurk village. Ghandruk is one of the most popular Gurung villages in Annapurna region from where you can enjoy views of Annapurna, Macchapuchre and Hiunch`uli. Stay overnight at lodge.  

You begin your trail following a gentle flat path passing through forests, rocks and terraces. After Kimche (1638m.) the trail descends through human settlements and terraces up to Seuli Bazaar. From here, the trail moves along the bank of Modi Khola to Birethanti. En- route, you pass through forests, rice terraces, waterfalls and green scenarios.  Birethanti is a small town with few lodges, shops and human settlements. Now, you walk for almost twenty minutes through flat path up to Nayapul (New Bridge). Here you board your vehicle to drive back to Pokhara takes approximately one and a half hours. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

En route, you will enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. If you choose to fly back to Kathmandu, it takes about 25 minutes. There are several flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara from morning to afternoon.

Additional Information

Below is a list of equipment and clothing required for trekking. The necessity of these items depends on the type, altitude, timing and destination of trekking. Appropriate trekking gears are not only required for the comfort/pleasure of your trek but also to improve safety factor.  Please have a look over these items in order to fully prepare and thoroughly enjoy the trekking. 

General Items:

Daypack, Rucksack, Sleeping bag, Duffel bag, Walking Poles, walking boots, sandals, Toiletries (Soaps, Toilet papers, Sanitizers, toothpaste, tooth brush, etc.)
