Langtang Region Trek

Langtang has all the features and attractions that any world class trekking trail commands. But what makes it so different and unique is that thankfully it is one of the least explored and visited trekking areas in Nepal. It has become famous ever since the British mountaineer Bill Tilman described it as ‘the most beautiful valley in the world’.

Langtang valley is also known as the ''treasure house'' of Alpine plants and is one of true wild outback of Nepal. The whole valley is carpeted with an array of beautiful flowers during the summer, a specter that should never be missed.  Its flourishing alpine vegetation and dense forests of rhododendrons and oaks is a prime habitat for many elusive and rare wild animals including Red Panda and Snow Leopard. There are sacred lakes such as Gosainkunda, natural hot springs, and high mountain passes that make for an exhilarating adventure. You will be able to appreciate the unique culture and lifestyle Tamang community who have close cultural and social affinity with Tibetans.

One of the most important features of the Lantang region is its abundant snow glaciers. It is one of the richest regions in Nepal for glaciers, as it is home to as many as 70 glacier basins.  These glaciers are integral part of the Langtang Himalayan ranges. Further, the trekking trails offer up-close and personal views of high peaks such as Shisapangma and Langtang.

Helambu, situated just north of Kathmandu, is one of the most accessible trekking regions in Nepal. The word Helambu derives from the term Hyolmo, used to denote the local settlers. Hyolmo community is also called the Sherpas of Helambu.

Langtang Trekking (08 Days)

Langtang trekking is the third most popular trekking route in Nepal. Langtang Trek is easily accessible from Kathmandu. It is a less populated trekking destination but it is the closest place where you could see the massive snow capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m) and offers pine forest, water falls, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, flora and meadows.

Langtang Cultural Trek

Langtang Himal is a region on the north part of the Kathmandu valley which lies just south of the Tibetan border. Langtang valley Trek is surrounded by high peaks of great appeal such as Langtang Lirung (7245m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Dorje Lakpa (6989m), Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and Sanjen Himal ranges.

Gosainkunda Trek

Gosaikunda is one of the Hindu holy places and is considered to be created by by Lord Shiva. The Buddhist Tamang that lives nearby also reveres it as their holy place. Every August on full moon night, lake is thronged with pilgrims for a big festival. On other days the lake sits in a tranquil atmosphere.
