Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour to Kathmandu - Pokhara - Lumbini (11 days)
In the plains of the south of the first foothills of the Churia range, lies Lumbini, birthplace of Gautama, the Buddha. Lumbini is a sacred place for Buddhists from all over the world.. A veteran Asian traveler and author of several books writes, 'As millions of Christians look to Jerusalem for inspiration, and millions of Muslims turn to Mecca, so do three hundred million Buddhists look towards the Himalayan country of Nepal, where a pillar was left by the great Emperor Ashoka to mark the site where Buddha was born.
Outline Itinerary
Day
1
Arrival to Kathmandu. Our airport representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Welcome drinks will be served. You stay overnight at the hotel.
Day
2
Sightseeing tour of Buddhist shrines like the Swayambhunath Stupa. You visit Pharping with a Monastery & Chovar Gorge. You also visit Mahaboudha in Patan, Machhendra Nath, Min Nath and Rudra Varna Mahavihar. You stay overnight at the hotel.
Day
3
Sightseeing tour of Buddhist Shrines. You visit shrines such as Chabahil Stupa & Boudhanath Stupa, Around Boudhanath stupa there are several other smaller Stupas to visit. From here, we drive on to Kopan Monastery for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4-5
At the Kopan Monastery where we learn about the history of the monastery and participate with some prayers. You stay overnight at the hotel.

6
Drive to Changu Narayan and Bhaktapur. You enjoy sightseeing in and around here. After sightseeing, we take an half hour drive to Nagarkot to see the spectacular Himalayan range of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse & the stunning sunset view. You stay overnight at the hotel.

7
We enjoy a breathtaking sunrise while sipping tea. On the same day we drive to scenic Pokhara. You stay overnight at the hotel.

8
Full day sightseeing of Peace Stupa, Monasteries & the Tibetan Refugee Camp in Hangja. We also do boating on the serene Phewa Lake & a cycling tour around the lakeside. You stay overnight at the hotel.

9
After breakfast we drive down to Lumbini via Syangja (5 hours) and visit Buddhist places & the quiet Lumbini Gardens. You stay overnight at the hotel.
Day
10
We fly back to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa. This day is free to do your own things. Send some post cards home or do some last minute shopping; or just stay in your room and reflect on your wonderful holiday. You stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 11
Our airport representative will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight home.
