Mt. Kongde Ri Peak Climbing

Kongde Ri peak, located about 4 kilometers west of Namche Bazaar, is considered as a holy mountain by the local people. It lies at an altitude of 6187 m. It was first submitted in 1975 A.D. and is open for climbing. It is not an easy climb and is steep. There are different routes as to climb the peak but none of them are easy for normal trekkers. This peak will be suitable for experienced climbers looking for challenges.

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu airport, transfer to hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu for preparation of the trip.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.) takes about 35 minutes.

Day 04: Trek from Lukla to Phakding takes approximately five hours.

Day 05: Trek from Phakding to Lumding Kharka. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 06: Trek from Lumding Kharka to Pokhari Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 07: Trek from Pokhari Camp to Kwangde Base Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 08: Climb to Kwangde High Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 09: Summit Kwangde Peak and back to High Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 10: Climb down to Kwangde Base Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 11: Trek from Kwangde Base Camp to Thame village. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 12: Rest in Thame. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 13: Trek from Thame to Phakding, Stay overnight in camp.

Day 14: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m.) takes about six hours.

Day 16: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu takes 35 minutes.

Day 17: Rest day in Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 18: Transfer to airport for final departure.

Checking the climbing equipment's, and discussing the climb with the climbing/trekking guides. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2886m.) takes about 35 minutes.

Trek from Lukla to Phakding (2640 m.) takes approximately three hours. You begin your trek from Lukla following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Nupla (5885m) which can be seen in the distance on the opposite bank is a peak atop the Kongde Ridge. You descend a mountainside path that merges into your route to Everest, with views to a valley to your right; and at its far end, Kusum Kang (6367m.) Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 04: Trek from Lukla to Phakding takes approximately five hours.

Namche Bazaar (3440m) is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges and opens out only where it faces the Bhote Koshi. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 05: Trek from Phakding to Lumding Kharka. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 06: Trek from Lumding Kharka to Pokhari Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 07: Trek from Pokhari Camp to Kwangde Base Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 08: Climb to Kwangde High Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 09: Summit Kwangde Peak and back to High Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 10: Climb down to Kwangde Base Camp. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 11: Trek from Kwangde Base Camp to Thame village. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 12: Rest in Thame. Stay overnight in camp.

Day 13: Trek from Thame to Phakding, Stay overnight in camp.

Day 14: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2886 m.) takes about six hours.

The last day of your trek leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. The trek is pleasant, except for a few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote-Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring you to Lukla for your overnight stay. Stay overnight in lodge

Day 16: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu takes 35 minutes.

You take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Rest day in Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu

Day 18: Transfer to airport for final departure.

The crews for the climbing were excellent. Especially Kancha, the guide is really exceptional ( friendly, knowledgable, and willing to give the best service ).
Pasang was really hard working and dedicated to the whole trip and always gave the best care. This climbing trip was really enjoyable and memorable.
