Baruntse (7129m) lies in the Khumbu region surrounded by three big glaciers: Hunku, Barun and Imja Glaciers. It is one of the most popular expedition peaks for seasoned climbers.
Bartunste falls within the territory of Makalu Barun National Park, one of the least visited and explored national parks in Nepal. The park is home to a wide array of biodiversity including 315 species of butterflies, 43 species of reptile, and 16 species of amphibians.
Baruntse was first climbed by Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow in 1954 via South -East Ridge. The approach to the Baruntse is via south of Everest Base Camp. The climbing will involve steep faces, challenging elevation and slippery ice cliff. Barutnse is technically a challenging climb and requires climbers to have some knowledge about basics of mountaineering. Once on top of Baruntse, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Lhotse, Everest and Makalu.
We ensure that you are accompanied by a full team of experienced Sherpa climbers and high altitude guides. Barutnse provides a rare opportunity to summit climb Mera Peak before reaching to the base camp of Baruntse.
